It's Almost Time!

We only have 6 weeks left!!!
This week we took our announcement pictures. We cut some wood and tied the ropes and made a beautiful swing. My oldest sister Christi came with us to Oak Flatts (which is where I used to camp all the time as a little girl and Donald used to go with his friends in highschool) and took some AMAZING pictures. My sister did a great job. Donald climbed like a million feet in the tree to hang the swing but, hey, that's why I'm marrying him. Then Christi worked really hard editing them for me. I know they will turn out really great and very different. Because I'm very different.
Wedding plans are coming along very well. I'm surprised at my self at how organized I am. I thought I'd be freaked out. But I'm pretty calm and having a lot of fun with everything. MOST things. I love you guys. Family is the best! And I hope you're all excited to come to the party.
Love,
Shannon
P.S. I'm registered at Bed Bath & Beyond in case any one needs to plan ahead or anything. :) (is that lame?)

Interview with the Weir of the Week

Rebecca Marie Blodgett

Rebecca's favorites:
  • color - blue
  • holiday - birthday
  • computer game - webkinz
  • xbox game - Open Season
  • movie- Kung Fu Panda
  • food - tuna helper
  • candy - twix
  • ice cream - choclate mint
  • author - Roald Dahl
  • primary song - If the Savior Stood Beside Me
Rebecca enjoys playing baseball in the backyard with her family. Her favorite thing to do is go swimming. If Rebecca were to choose a career she would want to be a nurse or a scientist, but her wish for her future life is to be "the bestest mommy like her mommy". Her special talents include doing homework, jumping off the diving board, and math.

Rebecca made sure I didn't have it easy as a new mom. There were a few nights before I had to wake up for my 7 o'clock class that I would have to wind her swing every 20 minutes just to keep her from screaming. She was so devoted to her mommy that when she'd have a babysitter she'd scream her lungs out until she couldn't scream anymore. Oh, wait, I just realized she'd scream for me too so maybe it wasn't because she missed me.
Rebecca is a brave leader, a good example, and a great helper. I'm so thankful she's my daughter.

Weir (Blodgett) of the Week: Rebecca Marie Blodgett

Rebecca Marie Blodgett is the "Weir of the Week"! Rebecca is the very first grandchild in this every growing organization we call the Weir Family. She is the leader of the pack, born December 18, 1998. I can hardly believe she will be 10 this year!!! I will leave the interviewing of Rebecca to her mother so we can get all the great details. We look forward to your report. I just wanted to add how much I love, admire, and adore this little woman. We are blessed to know Rebecca.
Love, Aunt Shari

Tonsillectomy

For our happy Anniversary I gave Dan a tonsillectomy. Well, I didn't perform the procedure but I gave him my permission. Now I feel so guilty because he is in so much pain. I hope so much that it will be worth it. I'm starting to believe all the reports that say a tonsillectomy is more painful than childbirth. He can't even swallow his pain pills to kill the pain. Instead I mix the powder in with applesauce and he struggles to swallow the applesauce. Thank you so much to Jessie for keeping all 5 of my kids today. I know that's no small chore and I'm so thankful they were with you. They had a great time with their Hunter cousins. They are so sad to see their Dad in pain. I wouldn't let any of them near him tonight and Adrian was so sad. He came and sat by me in the kitchen and said how sad he was that his Dad was sick and how much he hates it when he's sick because he wants to play with him all the time. Hopefully we can get through this night. I know Dan will be in a lot of pain so I'll be giving him pain pills every 4 hours and I'll be waking up with Donald. Unfortunately I have a feeling they won't be on the same schedule so we'll see if I get any sleep tonight. I looked up tonsillectomy on wikipedia and I was going to include a picture with my blog but I decided not to because tonsils are not very good looking. I hope you are all doing well. Love, Sarah

My Appendix Hates Me

I think most of you have heard...

On last Friday night Donald and I and my friend Kelly went out to dinner and a movie. During the movie I was having a hard time getting comfortable, I thought maybe I ate too much. On the ride home I felt a little under the weather, I thought it was just gas. That night I couldn't sleep at all. I kept tossing and turning and every position felt like someone was kicking my stomach. It was weird because I never had gas that kept me up all night. I had to work early the next morning. Donald drove me because he was worried I might fall asleep at the wheel. I was not feeling any better. I knew my body was telling me something was really wrong. So I asked him to wait at my work and I told them I wasn't feeling well and I left and we drove straight to the Emergency Room. I told them I thought I had gall stones. The doctor thought I had them, too. after a bunch of tests I had an ultra sound. But he said that came back negative for gall stones. I was stressed. I asked him about my appendix and he said that because some of the other test results he didn't think that was it but he wanted to rule it out so i had to get an MRI. They brought me my yummy 2 liters of Barium drink (YUCK!) Then after the MRI the doctor came and said "yup your appendix is inflamed and it's gotta come out, the O.R. will be ready in 30 minutes" I was kinda scared. I've never been in the hospital before or had surgery. And i had no time to physically or mentally prepare myself so it was surreal. But it went so well. Donald didn't leave my side. And my Mom came to be there, too. I only had to stay over night my appendix hadn't burst. Now I'm fine, just a little sore. I am so glad to be back at work! I had to take a week off work and I was getting Cabin Fever!

Thanks everyone for your prayers!

Love,

-Shannon-
