Weir of the Week

Her full name is Shannon Daly Weir of the Week.

She was born on the 19th of May 1982. The sixth child of eight. Five older sisters and two younger brothers. Her eyes are beautiful blue. After taking a test at Disney Land she found that her Disney character is Ariel. A a A a a a A a A a a a a a A a a A A A A. And she can recite the entire Music Man song...

Well ya got trouble, my friend, right here, I say, trouble right here in River City. Why sure I'm a billiard player,Certainly mighty proud I say I'm always mighty proud to say it. I consider that the hours I spend With a cue in my hand are golden. Help you cultivate horse sense And a cool head and a keen eye. Never take and try to give An iron-clad leave to yourself From a three-rail billiard shot? But just as I say, It takes judgement, brains, and maturity to score In a balk line game, I say that any boob kin take And shove a ball in a pocket. And they call that sloth. The first big step on the road To the depths of deg-ra-Day--I say, first, medicinal wine from a teaspoon,Then beer from a bottle. An' the next thing ya know, Your son is playin' for money In a pinch-back suit. And list'nin to some big out-a-town Jasper Hearin' him tell about horse-race gamblin'. Not a wholesome trottin' race, no!But a race where they set down right on the horse! Like to see some stuck-up jockey'boy Sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say. Friends, lemme tell you what I mean.Ya got one, two, three, four, five, six pockets in a table. Pockets that mark the diff'rence Between a gentlemen and a bum, With a capital "B," And that rhymes with "P" and that stands for pool! And all week long your River City Youth'll be frittern away, I say your young men'll be frittern!Frittern away their noontime, suppertime, chore time too!Get the ball in the pocket,Never mind gittin' Dandelions pulled Or the screen door patched or the beefsteak pounded.Never mind pumpin' any water 'Til your parents are caught with the Cistern empty On a Saturday night and that's trouble,Oh, yes we got lots and lots a' trouble.I'm thinkin' of the kids in the knickerbockers, Shirt-tail young ones, peekin' in the pool Hall window after school, look, folks! Right here in River City. Trouble with a capital "T"And that rhymes with "P" and that stands for pool! Now, I know all you folks are the right kinda parents. I'm gonna be perfectly frank.Would ya like to know what kinda conversation goes On while they're loafin' around that Hall? They're tryin' out Bevo, tryin' out cubebs,Tryin' out Tailor Mades like Cigarette Feends! And braggin' all about How they're gonna cover up a tell-tale breath with Sen-Sen.One fine night, they leave the pool hall,Headin' for the dance at the Arm'ry!Libertine men and Scarlet women! And Rag-time, shameless music That'll grab your son and your daughter With the arms of a jungle animal instink!Mass-staria!Friends, the idle brain is the devil's playground!Trouble, oh we got trouble, Right here in River City! With a capital "T" That rhymes with "P"And that stands for Pool,That stands for pool. We've surely got trouble!Right here in River City, Right here!Gotta figger out a wayTo keep the young ones moral after school!Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble...

I read along while she sang it all word for word. She didn't mess up once then she walked out of the room saying, "I'm ready for my audition". WoW what a woman!

Her favorite Disneyland ride is Indiana Jones but she doesn't really like to talk about what happened in Peru.

Her first crush was Xavier, a little Mexican boy that lived across the street, when she was four.

Her favorite Holiday is Halloween.

She doesn't like baths. She likes Showers.

When asked, "You have pretty lips.", she answered, "Thank you".

When she was little she was in the bathroom with one of her older sisters who was on the potty doing her business. Shannon looked at her and said, " I can't wait till i grow up and have a big bottom like you". Her sister asked,"why"? And she said, " Because then I won't ever fall in when I'm going to the bathroom".

She likes Harry Potter.

She's really good at telling stories.

She loves me and Honey.

She doesn't like it when Honey licks her legs. Honey is only human and can't help it most of the time.

She is really good at carving pumpkins.

She is really good at making me smile.

Disneyland Trip!

Donald and I got to go to Disneyland for just one day. And oh boy, what a fun day!!! It was Donalds first time visit so he got an extra pin for his shirt :) We rode all the big rides and most of them twice. We didn't get picked for a "million dreams" prize but we did get pretty lucky all day long. We walked our poor little feet off. But we had so much fun. Donald said he wants to go back for his birthday. (psssst! if you register online, you get in free on your birthday!) My favorite ride is always Indiana Jones. But I think Donald prefers Space Mountain. My family thought it would be a good idea to get bright orange shirts with our names printed on them and the family logo on the back. It was a good idea. We could always find each other in a crowd thats for sure! I keep telling Donald that the Weir side NEEDS to do this. C'mon guys lets go!!!

Love,

Shannon

Productive Weekend for Leah

Leah took her first step on Friday. She got her first tooth on Saturday. And I received my first slobbery, open-mouthed, tounge-licking kiss from Leah on Sunday. It was...magic.

Weir of the Week: Ethan Thomas Hunter

When Ethan got out of the corner he was in a foul mood and said, "I don't want to be the stupid dumb thing of the week." So, I figured, he won't be checking the blog anyways. Ethan can best be described as a grown man trapped in a little boys body. He has told me many times that he's not afraid of anything. He was jumping off diving boards at age 3. His favorite movie has always been Pirates of the Caribbean. His favorite sport is to play tennis in the backyard. He loves any game that he's in charge of and where everyone is listening to him.The best way to show Ethan love is to spend time with him. He is happiest when I sit and play a board game with him. He loves it when I sit by his bed and talk to him before he goes to sleep. He talks and talks and wants to tell me everything that he is thinking and feeling and doing in his life. If you can get through his tough little shell on the outside he's so super sweet and sensitive on the inside. He cares about what Scott thinks of him more than anything in this world. He is a lot like his mommy in that regard. He has impressed everyone of his teachers with his brilliance. They all rave about him. Ethan taught himself how to ride a bike with no help. He would have spaghetti every night for dinner if I'd make it for him. When Ethan was little he'd store food in his cheeks all night like a chipmunk. One morning I came in and he still had red onions and olives in his mouth from dinner the night before. I had to start checking every night before I put him to bed so that he didn't choke. He was my best nursey boy. Sometimes I have to remind myself that he is still a child. He will ride his bike or walk to his friend's houses all by himself down the street. I just watch out the window until I can't see him anymore and then call his friend's mom to make sure that she's watching for him. I always ask him if I can justdrive him but he insists on doing it himself. He reminds me of this other child I know who would always tell her mommy, "I CAN DO ITMYSELF!" I love to stare at my Ethan in wonder until he notices that I'm watching him. Then I hurry and look away so that I don't get in trouble. He's so beautiful and amazing and has taught me so much about life. I'm so blessed that he's mine.
